 REMEMBER WHEN....

REMEMBER WHEN....

...it mattered not how silly we should be,
and sang our hearts out till content,
eating candy of all sorts of color and taste,
and did not let any of it go to waste.

...school days were just a step away,
and with the years slowly going astray,
we made fun of our schoolmates,
and some,  later became best of friends.

..."yippies" roamed the same streets,
bringing peace to all they meet and greet,
with precious sunflowers so gold and bold,
shouting out, peace on earth to one and all!

...we gave away our faded clothing,
only to see the fad return like molding,
and low rises became high rises,
stretching out to beyond the horizons.

...we clinched in our hearts,
the times of old to share with all,
and days of new no more haunted,
from blasts of the past already battled.

Nostalgia, we should not ever have to erase,
instead, be thankful with sighs and much embrace,
as Mother Nature changes time with her beauty,
flowers blooming in Spring and glowing in Summer.

Then Autumn leaves lose their shades of red,
allowing the winter's chill to calm heated shores,
providing us the years ahead, our destiny to share,
and stroll down the new avenues,

so we can go on to.... Remember When!
