Heart Of The Matter

Living With Leonard (Tribute to L. Cohen)

I'm living with Leonard,
His songs in my room,
His voice penetrating,
From out of the gloom.

I'm living with Leonard,
I have done for years,
My constant companion,
My river of tears.

I'm living with Leonard,
His poetry sustains,
I read it quite often,
When solitude reigns.

I'm living with Leonard,
His soul touches mine,
He's part of my life,
Has been for some time.

I'm living with Leonard,
Inspired day by day,
I now hear him singing,
He's coming my way.

I'm living with Leonard,
Delight in the knowing,
Just living with Lenny,
The man they call Cohen.
