Heart Of The Matter

Night Flight

I had some wine,
A lot more than I should,
Intoxicated,
Oh, but it felt good,
I went outside,
To watch the sky at night,
And in the velvet sky,
The stars shone bright,

My friend, she joined me,
In my reverie,
And asked me, tell me,
What is it you see?
I told her that the plane,
We saw last night,
Still hadn't moved,
Remaining in mid flight,

She looked at me,
Then looked towards the sky,
She said “its Venus,
Clear to naked eye”,
And at the time,
I thought I'd gone insane,
The night before,
She said it was a plane!
