Heart Of The Matter

Re-Cycled

Long gone,
Re-cycled memories,
Swiftly placed,
In refuse sack,
Some relics,
From some bygone days,
That won't be,
Coming back,

Some photographs,
Mementoes,
From a long lost,
Weekend show,
Stuck in reverse,
Move forward,
It's now time,
To let it go.

Old letters read,
And shredded,
Now no prying eyes,
May read,
The secrets,
Of a love affair,
That quickly went,
To seed.

A key ring formed,
In half a heart,
The other held,
By you,
Now tumbled,
Into plastic bag,
Just like my love,
For you.

We died a death,
Departed,
We both found,
Someone new,
Do you still have
The key ring?
Or did you,
Bin it too.
