Heart Of The Matter
Eternally
Tomorrow I will say my last goodbye,
I'll take my place and bid you fond farewell,
I'll stand in line you will not see me cry,
And listen to the secrets they will tell,
No screaming, weeping, wailing by your bed,
Your final passing made with dignity,
I talked to you and stroked your weary head,
I'm honoured that you shared that time with me,
My brother, friend, I had to let you go,
To find your rainbow in a cloudless sky,
We talked about it, now I know, you know,
There really is no need to say goodbye.
I know that life goes on for you, and me,
Eternally and in entirety.

Written on the eve of my brother's funeral, a message to him, and to me.

There really is no need to say goodbye.
I know that life goes on for you, and me,
