Heart Of The Matter

I Walked Today

Image hosting by Photobucket

I walked today,
Quietly, and at peace,
In my world,
The day bright and cloudless,
And away from the shade,
The sun beat warmly on my brow,

And in the distance,
The hills lay before me,
Snow capped,
And perfect,
A feast for my tired,
Weary eyes…….

I walked today,
And all was well,
In my world,
The minor irritations,
Of my yesterday now gone,
Cast aside,
By the early sunlit morn,

The cool, fiery breeze,
Whips my hair around my face,
And stings as a hornet,
Disturbed from its nest,
Disgruntled, by my presence,
In its midst.

In spite of this,
My time is pleasant,
And my senses,
Aroused by the beauty,
Of such a scene,
Reach hungrily,
To the heavens,
And beyond.

And though alone,
In my world,
I feel the presence …..

And only He, who knows my soul,
Is ever constant,
By my side.
