Heart Of The Matter

Blinded By Deceit

Once in a while we see things so clearly,
Our eyes no longer blinkered,
We remove those rose tinted glasses,
And see the true colour of those,
We thought we knew,
And cared for …

The truth hurts, for sure,
We are wounded and broken,
Yet, it is better to be wounded,
Than blinded by deceit.

Some wounds heal swiftly,
And leave no scar,
Tonight, I see things clearly,
And I'm much better off, by far.
