Heart Of The Matter

It Rained Today

It rained today,
Softly,
Silently and serene,
I watched tiny droplets,
Settle on my window,
And I longed to be cooled,
By their touch,

I walked in rain today,
My hair dampened,
By its gentle spray,
My skin shimmering,
In its mist,

The summer days,
Long and hot,
Have drained me,
And I have grown tired,
Of its passion,
And its intensity,

Rain on me,
Sweet clouds of mystery,
Dissipate the grey clouds,
Marring my judgement,
On matters of the heart,

It rained today,
For a while,
Then the sun warmed me,
Evaporating doubt, and fear,

I watched steam rising,
From sun scorched grass,
And heard the silent voice,

For love is in my destiny,
And in destiny,
There's no choice.
