Hey, Georgie Boy!
I came to visit you today,
You looked surprised,
But you grinned,
In the same old way,
I arrived unannounced,
And we talked for a while,
You, laughing at my exploits,
A shake of your head,
And a smile….
It's been a while, my friend,
My oldest friend,
My confidante …
And I miss your company,
I miss the fun we had,
Back in those old, old days,
We grew up together,
We worked together,
And you know me,
Really know me,
As no one else ever did,
We share the same roots,
You have never changed,
Still the same Georgie Boy,
Oh, the laughs we shared,
Do you remember them all?
Do you recall?
The crazy conversations,
Over all those years,
Yes, we laughed our way through life,
Through times of pain and tears,
You were always there for me,
And you will always be there.
I came to visit you today,
Georgie Boy,
We arranged to meet up soon,
Make some time,
Have dinner …..
With my all time favourite loon!
