ONE DAY AT A TIME

Though we parted long ago,
you still enter my dreams,
your image fades away
from the sweetness of the night,
as dawn delivers the day, I can only pray,
that you remember me, in a loving way.

Passion I hold on to is hard to erase,
for the love we shared was all so scarce,
during times when I needed you the most,
you were my Angel, embracing my every need,
tis from you I came to realization
of what being in love is all about.

A favorite song I recall and listen to,
one we danced and held on so close to,
I envision your eyes of blue,
how they sparkled when you gazed at me,
no words needed to be spoken,
for our devotion expressed emotion.

Somewhere in our untouched destiny,
we may meet and rekindle how it used to be,
in our special place in time, how it all began,
one thing for sure, I will remind you of
how you molded me and made sure I understood,
I'm a Lady, and treated me like a man should.

Sometimes I ask myself if I'm just a fool,
holding on to your apparition, as I do,
I know I'm not crazy for feeling the way I do,
for I will hold on to your memory like a shield,
and not allow obstacles cast off in our field.

I choose not to let go
of any of my dreams,
for you were then,
and always will remain
...my Earth Angel.
