Heart Of The Matter
Dolls House
I never had a dolls house,
With little wicker chair,
Or little leather sofas,
All stuffed with horses' hair,
No lamps or candelabra,
Or paintings on the wall,
No magic carpet from the east,
I had none of that, at all,
I never had a bedroom,
All prettied up in pink,
Or a room that had a bath in,
But, I do recall a sink,
I never had a dining room,
A place where posh folk ate,
Warmed by a marble fireplace,
Logs burning in the grate,
I never had a kitchen,
A room that's simply gleaming,
With bright new shiny copper,
Pots hanging from the ceiling,
I never had a dolls house,
Or a garden with a gate,
It wasn't what I wanted,
Nor would,
Appreciate.
