 REFLECTIONS IN THE NIGHT

Anna Netrebko sings "Song To The Moon"

from the Russian Opera "Rusalka" by Dvorak

The moon's glow awakens the night,
reflecting upon still waters without a fright,
though you've escaped me from daylight,
my desires flourish into the moonlight.

If I am dreaming, I wish never to awaken,
for I sense pureness and am not forsaken,
floating on still water flooded with tears,
I cleanse my reflection of any fears.

Your shadow I envision, bewitching my flesh,
feed upon my veins, let our juices form a mesh,
I will cling on to this fantasy of webbed delight,
satisfying my pleasures into an everlasting night.

Such a great force the moon has granted me,
with powers to be whom I've dreamt to be,
tis in the night's moonlight I am longing to stay,
for my powers diminish as dawn awakens the day.
