Rhymes of the Heart

These Old Hands

These old hands have toiled and labored
Worked their fingers to the bone
These old hands have held more beauty
Than most have ever known

I held my darling in these hands
My babies when they were born
The strength has finally dwindled
They're calloused now and worn

These old hands have met many friends
And shared both smiles and tears
These old hands have held more happiness
Than most through the years

I held my love for Jesus Christ
In these hands clasped each night
Down on my knees in solemn prayer
Making sure my life was right

These old hands have made a living
Working hard most everyday'
These old hands have held more dreams
Than most could ever say

I now reach into the light
With both these wrinkled hands
Knowing Jesus is there to greet me
As I achieve His final plans

These old hands have found new peace
And lay quietly at rest
These old hands have found their just reward
With Heaven I've been blessed
