Heart Of The Matter
BRAVEHEART - TWO
My Dear Braveheart,
Ah, news of thy conquests,
Hath reached thy camp,
There is such merriment and rejoicing,
In thy victories, sweet Knight …
Thy loyal countrymen hath prepared such a feast,
In thine honour,
Sweet wine tempts the palates,
And flows akin to the blood of thine enemies,
My Dear Braveheart,
There is much frivolity this night …
Oh, my deep, distant Knight,
My heart doth grow weary,
I must take my leave of such rejoicing,
For I fear for you, my Lord …
Dost thou not know how my heart bleeds also?
I shall retire to thy chamber,
Where I await thy return,
I shall seek comfort from distant skies,
Oh, my love,
Be thou vigilant this night,
For I fear much treachery surrounds thee …
Be still, my Braveheart,
Caress my silken ribbons,
And think of thy fair maiden who so weeps for thee,
Return victorious, my love, soon ….
For I fear,
I grow weak from such desire.
