She walked up to me

When Mom met this man
She soon left my Daddy
Tore apart our whole world
All the dreams that I had
To the wind they were hurled
He did things to me
And my sister as well
But Mom wouldn't hear it
It did no good to tell
Sometimes they'd leave us
Seemed the days would not end
We'd play at being grown ups
But it was all just pretend
How we loved our Mom
She was all that we had
But we were just little girls
Alone and so sad
This man he changed her
She'd no longer smile
We'd pray every night
Give her back for a while

Our Mom no longer happy
In her eyes you could tell
We were living on edge
A whole family in Hell
It's a story with no end
For today it goes on

With tears how they glisten
Could I have changed things?

Looking back on our lives
