Heart Of The Matter

Another Day, Another Call

Another day,
Phones ringing off the wall,
Someone,
Cut the wrist too deep,
And thought, he'd like to call,
Another took some tablets,
To try to end the pain,
Another day,
Another call,
Yes, here I go again,

Another day of desperate deeds,
And troubled,
Tortured acts,
Switch onto auto pilot,
Stay calm,
Relay the facts,

Dial 999, emergency,
Let naught be left to chance,
No time for pleasant thoughts of love,
No time for sweet romance,

Life got a little rough today,
A heavy fog hangs low,
Another day,
Another call,
And morning moves,
So slow.

The frantic voices call on me,
By twelve, I'm under stress,
Another incoherent voice,
A lady,
In distress.

I take leave of their torture,
And head down to the park,
The trees stand lost and naked,
Mysterious and stark,

The cold air calms my senses,
My thoughts are now of him,
I feel his warmth surround me,
For love lies deep within,
And all is quiet around me,
My solace, I have found,

But …

I'm heading back to bedlam,
And I face another round.
