Heart Of The Matter
Surrender To The Storm
The wind howls as the wolf,
Rain lashes,
Pummelling,
In great torrents,
Flooding deserted streets,
In merciless momentum,
Trees bend in furious fervour,
Surrendering to the storm,
All things will pass,
It is said,
Soon, the wolf will tire,
His howling will cease,
And calm will return,
To the dawn,
For winter has come,
This night,
And I bend,
As the tree,
Battered, yet unbroken,
Surrendering,
To the storm.
