Heart Of The Matter
Letter To My Love
I have to write a letter to my love,
Convey, somehow, the way I really feel,
For he was surely sent from God above,
To show me that this thing called Love is real,
But can I find the words to make him see,
That for so many years I've loved him so,
I'm sure he knows that we were meant to be,
And how it breaks my heart to watch him go,
For when we sit together, side by side,
I know he feels my spirit reaching out,
I see the love he tries so hard to hide,
And in a crowd he knows when I'm about,
A letter to my love, what can I say?
I'd rather write a poem, any day.
