Heart Of The Matter

Oh! Holy Night

No Christmas tree,
No twinkling light,
No Christmas carol,
Holy Night,
No tinsel, turkey,
Christmas pud,
No shelter, warmth,
Nor cash for food,

And huddled close,
Conserving heat,
Together,
On a city street,
The passers by,
Don't seem to care,
They have so much,
Yet will not share,

And all is silent,
All is bright,
Within the dark,
They see the light,
A beam shines forth,
They see the van,
They're out in force,
The Sally Ann,

With sandwiches,
And soup dispensed,
Their faith in God,
Now recompensed,
They find some shelter,
Warm and bright,
It's Christmastime,
Oh, Holy Night.
