Heart Of The Matter

Won't Be Missed

I don't want to be alone that night,
So, I'll travel through to Stirling,
Where the castle shines,
So bright,

Where all the party people,
Will get lost within a crowd,
And all the well known bands play,
Patriotic songs out loud,

The magic midnight moment shared,
By strangers yet unknown,
On Hogmanay, the New Year's Eve,
I don't want to be alone,

I want to hear the pipes and drums,
Instil a fire inside,
I want to lose this feeling,
And the need to run and hide,

I want to watch the fireworks,
Explode from turrets high,
Cascading bands of colour,
Lighting up the midnight sky,

Embrace the storm that's forecast,
Rejoicing in its' midst,
No one at home to share it with,
So, I really won't be missed.
