Though I Sometimes Sin

When I wake each morning I get on my knees
I give thanks to the Lord and beg of him please
Let me do your will today
And represent you better than I did yesterday
I study his word to gain wisdom and strength
To make it through the day and the temptations there in
While driving to work I listen to songs of praise
And sing along as the radio plays
Songs like "amazing grace" and "old rugged cross"
They remind me of my freedom and also the cost
So I endeavor to keep my mind on Christ
And how He died to save my life
I ask for the Holy Spirit to come in
And guide me through until days end
And yet some how, and this I don't understand
What it is about this wretch of a man
With all of the good I try to put in
Some how, some way I still manage to sin
The Apostle Paul teaches that those things we would do
For whatever reason, we don't always do
And again those things that we would not do
Those are the things we sometimes do
It is not us, but this thing called sin
That greives our hearts again and again
And the Devil only makes it worse
He keeps telling me that I am cursed
"You will never win", he says to me
"A sinner is what you will always be
Don't try to fight it, you can never win
It is in your nature, you were born to sin"
Jesus promised that if I live right
Then I would recieve a crown of life
This I believe, and so I try
But still I gossip, I cheat, and I lie
I ask the Lords forgivness with all my heart
And awake each morning to a brand new start
As long as His mercies fall fresh everyday
And His grace walks me through the way
I must believe God has pardon my sins
Shake off the dust and try again
Knowing His love will never end
I'm still his child though sometimes I sin
