We Need More ....
We need more,
Than tender words of love,
Whispered deep into the night,
More than written kisses,
Penned by flickering candlelight,
We need more,
Than dancing cheek to cheek,
A vision in the night,
More than wishing on a star,
Or a full moon shining bright,
We need more,
Than simply making do,
With whatever fate has deemed,
More than being quite content,
With something that we dreamed,
We need more,
Than empty promises,
From a distance dark and cold,
I'm close enough to touch you,
Never close enough, to hold.
