The first time laid eyes on you
My mind was confused it's true
The second time I was a mess

I was fast becoming enamored
With a freckled lovely redhead
I prayed to God for him to bless
~*~
Our love and make it grow
Our love began to show
We dared to push and press
~*~
That was over 40 years ago
To war I would soon have to go
Young and ready, a little stress
~*~
We became more than you, or me
Our individuality, joined in the ecstasy of we
Still we love each other, now that's success
~*~
