Rhymes of the Heart
Children of War
We come in all sizes
All ages and race
With one thing in common
The sad look on our face
You say the future is ours
But tell us what will it be
War torn and ravaged
And no longer free
Our Fathers and Mothers
In a world not our own
Fighting with pride
But we're here all alone
We tuck ourselves in
Say a prayer every night
With tears on our pillow
Please end this fight
We try to be strong
In a world of decay
Watching the news
When we should be at play
Hoping Mommy and Daddy
Will walk through that door
With a smile on their face
Saying war is no more
