Our only little daughter had taken her last breath,
our hearts were so full of pain, we wanted nothing
more than to lie down on the bed beside her, and die too,
then a stranger appeared in our home, he said she's not dead
but is sleeping, I will wake her, our friends who had gathered
and were lamenting her death, began to laugh this man to scorn.
The man, demanded the scoffers be put forth, out of our house,
then he beckoned us, and his friends into the room where our little girl lay,
all signs of life were gone, no breath, her little body cold
and gray, then this man took her hand in his and said two simple,
but seemingly impossible words "maiden arise" one touch, and two
words, and she came back from death to life, he said, give her
meat, so many questions we cast in our minds, but none of
them mattered, our daughter was no longer dead, I turned, my heart
magnifying God, to thank Him, but he was gone, as quickly as he had come,
I heard someone say His name was Jesus.
I had been lame so many years, that I had given up hope of ever
walking again, I lay by the pool every day, ever so often an angel
would come down and trouble the water, and the first person to get
into the pool after the troubling, would be healed, I had no one
to help me get there first, I sat helplessly and watched as others
walked away to live their lives again after being made whole, then
one day a man came to me and asked me if I would be made whole?
what kind of question is this, I cast In my mind? yes! yes! more
than anything, I wanted this, then He touched me and said to me "arise"
take up thy bed and go to your home, I felt power and strength flow
into my legs, praising God, I picked up my bed, great joy flooding
through my heart, and I went home, I didn't even know His Name, until
I met Him again the next day, His name was Jesus.
As a soldier my job was to follow orders, it was my lot to
nail this man called the "king of the Jews" to a cross, for He was
being crucified, along with two thieves that day, I drove a large
spike into each of His hands and one through His feet, He had been
scourged so badly that He was barely alive, when I pounded those
spikes in His body, which was torn to shreds, He began to convulse,
I had done this job so many times, my mind should have been numb,
but when He turned his head and looked into my eyes, I then knew
in my heart this man they called "king of the Jews" had been falsely
accused, He was "The Christ" and His blood shed, held my fate.
I was frightened when the angel appeared before me and began to
tell me what things must be fulfilled, I was but a young maiden,
never having known any man, how could I bear a child? but loving
God as I did, I must obey, so be it unto me, what the angel did say.
As I journeyed with Joseph to pay our tax, the time of my sons
birth came at last, far from home, no room in the inn, a stable is
where Jesus life on earth began, Gods only son conceived of the Holy Ghost,
not realizing fully then, what I know now, that in thirty three years
He would lay his life down, so that I myself, and all mankind could
be saved, don't put me on a pedestal or worship me, I'm not the mother
of God as some would believe, I was but a vessel, because I was clean,
I kneeled at the foot of my sons blood stained cross and wondered how God
the Father, could bare such pain, Jesus was not powerless that day, He came to give
His life a ransom, for humanity, but three days later, He arose victorious
over death, hell and the grave, the only thing in heaven that was man made,
are the scars, left by the sword and nails that day.
