Heart Of The Matter
A Life, Uncomplicated
Loch Tay, Kenmore, Scotland.
There is a calm; a peacefulness,
By nightfall, be it found,
A place of perfect sanctuary,
Feet firm on solid ground,
A pleasant scene to heal the heart,
The light to fill the soul,
A gentle breeze caressing,
A distant bell to toll,
The gentle water lapping,
As it greets you on the shore,
And life, uncomplicated,
Simple and secure,
Nothing garish blights the eye,
And all is calm this night,
I have no need of heaven,
I have it in my sight,
No man can build his empire here,
Nor ravage this creation,
And as I ponder on the thought,
It fills me with elation,
I hasten not to leave this place,
I bide my time awhile,
A little boat bobs on the loch,
Inside, I wear a smile.
