Heart Of The Matter
Love Diminishes In Silence
I have no regrets,
For years gone past,
No tears shed,
Nor bitter moments,
Flimsy or fleeting,
Settle here tonight,
A moment of sadness,
Perhaps,
As I recall a time,
In a now distant past,
When hope burned,
New love blossomed,
And time stretched lazily,
The future,
Lay on blissful horizons,
As days drew long,
In the waiting,
In your absence,
The light still shone,
Only to flicker in the night,
Of the long shadows,
Yet unfaltering was my faith,
In you.
I have no regrets,
Nor a moment, would I change,
For love,
So unconditional,
I discovered in you,
And I learned.
Remember me, in fondness,
As I'll remember you,
Love diminishes in silence,
and there was no more,
I could do.
