Heart Of The Matter
I Wondered
I wondered if you thought of me today,
In kindness; or in bitter sweet refrain,
Regretting that I'd ever passed your way,
And shedding tears like gently falling rain,
I wondered if perchance I made you smile,
In memory of long lost happy times,
Those summer days that lasted just a while,
The love you read between a thousand lines,
We pledged our love beneath a star lit sky,
That seemed to resonate in harmony,
The moon obscured by clouds just passing by,
Then shining once again; on you and me.
I wondered if you thought of me today,
Or did you just go quietly on your way?
