Mellow, that's how I'm feeling now,
All woozy, wobbly and squiffy once again!
So much so, I hope for some sleep…
And hope for a painless sleep to reign!
Mellow, yes, that's the feeling!
I am ready to settle down for some sleep,
And hope amongst hope, it will come,
As the zzzzz's begin to creep!!!
And I will nod off in blissfulness,
Ok, so with my neck brace all in tact!
But at least it keeps my head from moving,
Of that it is very much a fact!
And it aint a pretty sight you know!
My poor Rich must get a shock!
When he opens his eyes of a morning,
I must look like a vicar without the frock!
But it keeps my head connected,
Firmly to my neck!
But at times, just to make sure its there!
I have to have a sneaky little check!!
And so I lay all stiff, from the neck up,
As I lay myself down to sleep…
All doped up on pain meds galore!
In the hope that a pain free dream will creep!
Well, ok, so it's a bit of a miracle if it does!
But hey, I believe in miracles!
That's why I'm still around!!
