The Bouquet
I took a walk in the garden
Where Roses were in bloom
The night completely filled
With the sweetest perfume
The stars shown brilliantly
On a black velvet drop
But in that same instant
I felt my beating heart stop
The petals all lay crumpled
Nothing left but the thorns
The stars fell from the sky
A bleeding heart mourns
I took this life for granted
Saw only what I chose
Never seeing past the beauty
Of one single rose
For God sowed the seeds
And nurtured them with care
Through the blood of His Son
To make us all aware
Have faith and be counted
Come judgment day
When the roses are gathered
