Heart Of The Matter

Alone, On Christmas Eve

Photobucket

A calm and peaceful feeling,
Will descend,
On Christmas Eve,
Clear my desk, and head home early,
All thoughts of work I'll leave,

To those I live with, nine to five,
Hugs and kisses,
Duly tendered,
I'll wish them “Happy Christmas”,
And a day to be remembered,

For some the joy of Christmas,
Will be tinged by sorrows song,
A recent,
Unexpected loss,
A mothers' love now gone,

And tears of joy for girl and boy,
Caught up in new loves net,
First Christmas,
Spent together,
And never to forget,

And others so contented,
Heading home to family life,
Bikes built and hidden for the kids,
Something secret,
For the wife,

There's a calm and peaceful feeling,
As I say “goodbye” and leave,
I've cleared my desk,
I'm heading home,

Alone, On Christmas Eve.
