Heart Of The Matter
The Last Day Of December
Was it a dream?
A night to remember,
The Castle of Kings,
The last day of December,
The pipes and the drums,
The dance in the rain,
Another New Year,
I'm beginning again,
The countdown to midnight,
Five, four, three, two one,
The old year departed,
A new one begun,
Emotion is building,
The tears start to flow,
The good times,
The bad times,
They come and they go,
Escape to elation,
The joy of the night,
Hope bursts in the heart,
Fearful fancy takes flight,
All hands joined in friendship,
The crowd sings as one,
The faces are smiling,
The tears cease to run,
Eyes open in wonder,
Their fireworks displayed,
They beckon in brilliance,
Whilst music is played,
Was it a dream?
My night to remember,
In the Castle of Kings,
The last day of December.
