Heart Of The Matter

Whirlwind

Photobucket

I'm caught in a whirlwind,
I'm spinning so fast,
A glimpse of the present,
The future, the past,
I'm whirling, I'm dizzy,
I can't catch my breath,
But I live and I breathe,
There's no word of my death,

My vision renewed,
It is clear, to the sight,
Now tarnished to brown,
The blue eyes so bright,
My once vibrant star,
That dazzled me so,
Now clouds my horizon,
There's no afterglow,

How rapid the whirlwind,
How strong is its pull,
Though fickle, I may be,
I'm nobody's fool,
I live and I breathe,
Independent of you,
And I gaze into brown eyes,
That used to be blue.
