Arrival And Departure
A stone will be erected
On this plot of hallowed ground
With loved ones in mourning
Gathered lovingly around
Your arrival and departure
Carved in this old cold stone
Your name in big bold letters
More proof your really gone
Where's the space for all the love
You brought into this world
With your smile brightly shining
Your loving arms unfurled
Where's the space for all the pride
You instilled in them like me
I guess that space lies in the heart
Where your memories will always be
It would take a mighty stone
I see through all these tears
To carve out all that you have been
To me throughout the years
You were my friend my hero
The best a dad could be
It may not be carved in stone
But it's in the heart of me
