As soon as I opened my eyes today
My memories drifted back 37 yrs.ago on this date
One of God's greatest gifts was placed in my arms
My first thought was to always keep you from harm
Weighing 7pounds and 12 & 1/2 ounces my bouncing baby boy
My heart overflowed with such love and pure joy
It was ironic that it was on labor day 37 years ago
After seventeen hours of labor you finally came
Filling my heart with such love I forgot the previous pain
You're the eldest of four sons but my memory is clear
Of the day of your birth and your childhood years
The many attributes and qualities you have today
Would take too much time on paper to display
I have to mention the gift you was given
The artistry and Jesus portrait you drew and gave me
Then there's your buisness and profession
Owner and operator of your company Kwallity Brick Masonry
But if I were to pen out the best one I would say
The total love and respect you've given along the way
As an adult rarely asking what we could do
On the contrary you'd say;" Mom and Dad I can help you"
Your selfless acts have rescued us several times
When unforeseen things would suddenly arise
I am so very blessed to call you my son
Over the years my love grows above and beyond
Today my once baby boy turns thirty seven
With a heart of gold he is still displaying
My eyes fill with tears remembering the day
My first gift from God in my arms was placed
These words are from the very heart of your Mama
Today my Son I celebrate your birth with honor
For I was so blessed thirty seven years ago
With love and appreciation I wanted to tell you so

For both your Dad and I have been truly blessed
