God still speaks to people
In several different ways.
Sometimes in words of warning,
Encouragement, or praise.
He can be heard audiblely..
By impressions or events.
He always leaves a message
In various styles and lengths.
He loves communication!
He can readily be heard
Behind a preacher's pulpit
Or simply through His Word.
At times He'll speak through nature.
This always gets attention!
His Voice was heard through history
Too many times to mention.
It echoed through the emptiness
On the first day of creation!
Spoke light into existence!
Happened without hesitation!
He stretched out the universe
By the power of His Voice!
Commanded every first effect
And the second had no choice!
His Voice, always creative,
Speaks through the painter's brush.
Through musical arrangements
Even through a sunset's blush.
He speaks through poets and prophets...
Through children and old men...
Through dreams and revelations...
Through visions now and then.
Just take the time to look within...
Into your spirit's core.
Listen for the still small Voice
Elijah listened for.
God really wants to speak to you...
He's anxious to be heard.
And if you listen close enough
He will give you a Word!
