Most Precious Christmas Gift
"Most Precious Christmas Gift"
Over two thousand years ago a gift was given unto the world
Conceived through the Holy Spirit by Mary just a girl
She was told that she would forever be blessed
And that she should call His name "Jesus"
Although she was dishonored in her heart she knew
She hadn't done no wrong and God would see her through
Even Joseph her beloved at first turned his back too
Until an angel in a dream confirmed that she told the truth
The town folk wanted to stone Mary to death
But Joseph told them soon they would be wed
From that day forward by her side he'd be
Protective and loving in God they both were trusting
Then the day would come that Mary birthed God's Son
Joseph would then raise Him as his very own
This little boy was special as kings came from afar
Being led to Bethlehem by a brilliant star
Jesus had to wait til He was thirty to start His ministry
It wasn't until He was baptized by John He began healing
For He was given power then by the Holy Spirit
As the dove came down God spoke and revealed it
For three and a half years He'd teach and heal the crowds
Showing His disciples that the gospel needed to go out
For the day would come soon He'd no longer be around
Mary knew all along what His birth was all about
Her precious baby boy was a gift unto the world
Only thirty three and a half years she'd have Him on earth
For He was God's sacrificial lamb she would birth
To accept Him as our final atonement and Saviour
On a lonely hill of golgatha Mary watched in agony
As His blood poured out to set mankind free
Jesus told His disciple John to take as his mother Mary
As he spoke " It is finished " our sins he would carry
Down to the pit of hell and then He rose again
Taking the keys of death and the grave with Him
Victory was won through the life and death of God's Son
That whosoever believeth on Him their sins will be forgiven
For sin was released by the first Adam
But Jesus our King was born to handle them
To bring eternal life and resurrection to all
That will humble themselves and on Jesus' name call

Matt.1:18-24
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:
When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together,
she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man,
and not willing to make her a public example,
was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold,
the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying,
Joseph, thou son of David,
fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife:
for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call
his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken
of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child,
and shall bring forth a son,
and they shall call his name Emmanuel,
which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel
of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
Matt.3:13-16
13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John,
to be baptized of him.
14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized
of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now:
for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.
Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway
out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him,
and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove,
and lighting upon him:
Matt.5:1-2
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain:
and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
(continued teaching verse 3 and on re The Beatitudes)
John 19:26-27
26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple
standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother,
Woman, behold thy son!
27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother!
And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
John 3:16-19
16 For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation,
that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil.
John 3:30-36 (King James Version)
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He that cometh from above is above all:
he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth:
he that cometh from heaven is above all.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth;
and no man receiveth his testimony.
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set
to his seal that God is true.
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God:
for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
35 The Father loveth the Son,
and hath given all things into his hand.
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;
but the wrath of God abideth on him.
