Grey clouds release a steady downpour of
snow, on a cold February day, bare tree
Branches bow beneath the weight of the
snow, a colorless barren scene, as far as
the eye can see
A morning dove coos with thankfulness, as
she finds a few berries on a branch, the
wind has come and blown the snow away from
the trunk of a tree, where a thankful squirrel
scurries into his warm cubby
Mounds of snow as far as the eye can see
much has been mixed with dirt when pushed
into literal mountains, no sun to be seen, a
dismal sight at best yet, there's a beautiful
silver lining there, only a child can see
Children scream with excitement, sliding
down the snowy mountains, these mountains
lined with unseen silver, mother nature
has provided many fun afternoons for
them, throughout the long winter months
The temperature climbs enough to turn the snow into rain
This will provide ice skating fun tomorrow, beautiful
silver linings indeed, children enjoying themselves
fully, with the fun nature has so thoughtfully
provided for them, something they never question
Gods little creature finding a sumptuous
meal on a branch is his silver lining, a
cold tired squirrel's silver lining opens
the door to the safety of his home, is
there any better feeling, than that of home?
Knowing that an Almighty God has placed silver
into every dreary cloud, all it takes is to
become childlike in our belief, that it
exists, the children know, the dove knows
and assuredly, the squirrel knows, shouldn't we?
