In Loving Memory Of My Precious Uncle Bob
My precious Uncle Bob was in his garden yesterday
While talking with his pastor he passed on to glory
I know where he's gone to that beautiful garden in the sky
I need not wonder or question for it was his time to say good-bye
My first thoughts were of comfort for I knew he was heaven bound
Yet my heart still feels an aching for he'll no longer be around
He was the one that watched over me and showed me the way
Into the family of God no doubt his rewards will be so many
What a precious man that read his bible everyday
He loved to sing to Jesus as he went about his way
I recall his favorite song was " Blessed Assurance"
I know he is in heaven for saved are those with endurance
His garden was his joy to share the crops he would harvest
He looked so forward to playing in it he would always tell us
When winter came he would be talking of next year and his garden
I know God will give him his very own to attend to in heaven
My heart is sad today mixed with words of rejoicing
For if any one deserved heaven I tell you it was him
I'll miss you so terribly my precious Uncle Bob
Go rest with the angels for your race on earth's been won
Before I close this memorial to you
I must give praises to God too
For it was He that put you in my life
Until we meet again ...
