footprints in the earth.....

Afternoon Encounter

I met you in the street
Somehow you didn't recognize
Me
I walked up to you
Hand on your shoulder
You saw me then
And a strange look
Was on your face
Was it a Sunday
Or the beer drinking gang
Opposed to my hypocritical
Civility
Red bug, informed mood
I need a push
I mean
The bug, the red bug
Needs a push
But your offer was refusal
This request
Repugnant, insulting
You pushed my face
Away,
No Sabbath manna
Mister
Where to go
The affront was biting
I walked away
But couldn't forget
Resort to law and
Order
A plainclothes officer
The cause to complain
Shocked again
Repeated mockery,
I became the
Raging runaway
The one to appease,
Afterwards a closed file
Second meeting I would
Be heathen,
Not to be caught
Unwary unforgiven
Yet reckoning came
Your name
Paid the other side of
Retribution
The story confirmed
Echo of rebellious
Statistics
Vengeance or vanity
What dance rites of fate
Sounded in that place.
