footprints in the earth.....

Streets in the city

One lifetime,
Is a puzzle
a jigsaw
Of streets in the city
Winding ways,
Hurried mornings
Survival deadlines,
Worn leather, blaring horns,
Teeming traffic
Stories by the corner
Related to the traders
Sweating by their wares
Running bridges
Tense schedules
Laughter in the bus
Not with the lips
But riot in the head,
Traveled distances
Dreamy dalliances
Night metamorphosis
Carrying caskets
All in one lifetime
