footprints in the earth.....

American Dream

My regards to Lincoln
while kissing his statue
hold up a candle for me
gazing on liberty's beauty
I havent seen Rushmore
I see Washington on the dollar
is this where love is conceived
blowing to the african sky
will I visit again and again
like a rollercoaster in Disneyland
Now I cannot tell
because of the ticket fare
I long to gaze at the Potomac
To see the streets of 2pac
to behold God's own country
All I am yet to see
As I reflect under Nigerian clouds
the origin of every ghetto
will I travel from Harlem to Los Angeles
See Texas and cowboys in the city
feel Arizona heat
be on the beach with bikinis
I pray under the sky
of my fatherland Nigeria
For heaven is our common denominator
I live and could realise my American dream

For citizens who are yet to travel to the U.S.A and their emotions meanwhile
