Young Virginia

Virginia smiled,
For as a child,
She recalled the grass on the knoll,
Lively dew, nature anew,
Daddy's kisses, sweet as gold,
Patent leather shoes,,
Shiny as sun, as precious too,
The pink organdy swish, of her dress,
As the dish, from the tea party fell into the fold,
Of her stiffened pleated skirt,
She would pet kitty on the hearth,
She decided with a curt nod and bow,
As she strolled home.....
