Hello Fellow Poets,

Firstly I would like to welcome you to my web page, I hope you are enjoying your visit. This page is still under construction as it is still relatively new and as much as I would like to be able to spend a great deal of time working on my site, time is limited due to work and other day to day obligations.

However I do plan to add new poetry to my site as often as I can and I hope you enjoy reading each new poem as much as I enjoy writing them.

I have always enjoyed writing whether it is short stories or poetry. I enjoyed writing at school and although my teachers thought I had good writing skills, I never quite had the self-confidence to follow through with it as a career.

I always carry a notebook with me so I can write down my poetry whenever I become inspired. My poetry is always from my heart. The words I write are from my own feelings and experiences. If I see something and it touches me, whether it be a happy or a sad situation, I try to write it down through my own words.

I find writing to be a therapeutic experience. Whenever I feel stressed, or if I feel the need to be alone I simply take pen to paper and all sorts of wonderful ideas flow through my mind. I find it comforting to be able to express myself through my writing and to be able to see it validated in print through my web page, it gives me a great sense of accomplishment.

I would like to offer my warm thanks to those who have given me the opportunity to express myself through this site. It is a dream come true to be able to have this experience and to experience this with all my friends and fellow poets.

Finally I would like to take a personal moment to offer my gratitude and thank you to my mother who passed away on September 20th 2003. Her love and support over the years gave me the courage to take a chance with my poetry and it was her inspirational words which helped me to make the decision to take a chance and start up my own web page. I miss her deeply and I know wherever she is, she is smiling down on me.

On another sad note it gives me great heartache to today be writing about my father and how he passed away on June 11 2009.

He suffered greatly over the loss of his beloved wife as he mourned her since her death in 2003. I feel they are both together now smiling down on me and encouring me to continue my journey. They both enjoyed reading my poetry and felt I had a real talent.

I love them both and miss them deeply. May both my Mum and Dad rest in peace. I love you both very much.

Regards Julia
