The Words Just Wouldn't Come
You were wishing for the right words at the right time but they just wouldn't come. Your girl was lost and alone and reaching out for love and comfort. She cried sadly. You put your arm around her, but the words just wouldn't come.
She told you she felt her life wasn't worth living any more, that it never had been. She said she felt completely worthless, that nobody really loved her. She looked you deep in your eyes, pleading, and finally said, "Why, oh why was I ever born?"
You wanted to say, "You made my life worth living, you built me up when I was down, you're the reason I was born! I love you. I love you so much!" But you just stood there, staring blankly back at her and continued to say nothing, because the words still just wouldn't come.
When you found out she was in the hospital, you realized how valuable those words were to her. If only you weren't too late! You had to make her know how important her life is to yours. You went to her bed and said tenderly, "Baby, I do love you. You're worth the whole world to me!" You couldn't believe how easy the words did come.
