We live by the principles of right and wrong
So many live by the principles of God
As God came down in the cloud of fire
Spoke to Moses on the mountain
And wrote the Ten Commandments
On the two stone tablets
Why did He gave the Commandments?
Because people didn't know about them
Nor practiced them because they didn't know
So God wrote them with His finger on the two stone tablets
He gave it to Moses to give to the people
To teach them about the law
The same law that so many live by now
And never realize
The law of right and wrong
So many now are living under the Commandments of God
But to them it means what is right or wrong
Yet that right or wrong
Comes from the Ten Commandments
Such as
You shall not murder
You shall not commit adultery
You shall not steal
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
Honor your father and mother
You shall not covet your neighbors things
You shall not covet your neighbors wife
Why would you not do those things
In todays society?
Because it is wrong to do it
And there are consequences
Such as prison time
Or losing a husband or wife
Or hurting someone else
Or getting hurt yourself
Way back then
When Israel left Egypt on their way to the promised land
People needed to know the principles of right and wrong
So God wrote them with His finger on the two stone tablets
He gave it to Moses to give to the people
To teach them about the law
The same law that so many live by now
And some not even realize
That the law of right and wrong comes from the Ten Commandments
So many now are living under the Ten Commandments of God
Even those that deny that God exist
Yet they still live by His Ten Commandments
Without even knowing it.
To them it just means
The principles of right and wrong
Yet those right or wrong principles come from the Ten Commandments
Given by God
Which were written down
In the book of Exodus during the time of Moses...

The Ten Commandments
1 And God spoke all these words, saying,
2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
out of the house of slavery.
3 "You shall have no other gods before me.
4 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above,
or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
6 but showing steadfast love to thousands[b] of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.
On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter,
your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock,
or the sojourner who is within your gates.
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them,
and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 "Honor your father and your mother,
that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
13 "You shall not murder.
14 "You shall not commit adultery.
15 "You shall not steal.
16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife,
or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey,
or anything that is your neighbor's."
18 Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning
and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid and trembled,
and they stood far off
19 and said to Moses, "You speak to us, and we will listen;
but do not let God speak to us, lest we die."
20 Moses said to the people, "Do not fear, for God has come to test you,
that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin."
21 The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.
Deuteronomy 9:9-10 (ESV)
9 When I went up the mountain to receive the tablets of stone,
the tablets of the covenant that the Lord made with you,
I remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
I neither ate bread nor drank water.
10 And the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of God,
and on them were all the words that the Lord had spoken with you
on the mountain out of the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly.

The Law of the Lord Is Perfect

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
4
Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun,
5
which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
6
Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the end of them,
and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
7
The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
8
the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9
the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
10
More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.
11
Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
12
Who can discern his errors?
Declare me innocent from hidden faults.
13
Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins;
let them not have dominion over me!
Then I shall be blameless,
and innocent of great transgression.
14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Sabbath Regulations
1Moses assembled all the congregation of the people of Israel and said to them,
“These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do.
2Six days work shall be done,
but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD.
Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.
3You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.”
