THOUGHTS OF A FARAWAY FRIEND
Your silence soothes me...
it calls to me to examine my own heart
and press on to feel things
I haven't felt in a very long time.
Your silence inspires me...
it prompts me to read your work,
look at your deepest thoughts,
and truly come to know who you are inside.
Your silence saddens me...
because even though I feel a kinship,
there is no sharing in silence.
I miss the wealth in your sharing.
Life goes on as it forever will.
I drink a toast to you
every time I put up my feet
with a glass of red wine my friend.
Look for yourself in the things I write...
