Absent Minded

Hole in the Wall

It looked like a hurricane had just hit
and swept all the debris across the room
it looked as though some kind of inhuman being
had lived there to die
and died regretfully to disappear,
there were no more traces of the past
just a mess
of crumbs
and broken glass
shards of memories
and treasures
and pieces of paper rolled up to be thrown away.

It looked as though the beach
crawled inside the apartment
and joined forces with
the other world
indoors
It looked unholy
as though saints had been tortured there
and you could hear the tapping drone
of water hitting the bottom of the sink.
The dust would blow off to settle somewhere else,
the nightmare not forgotten,
so long to this terrible
hole in the wall.
so long to the sleepless nights
the roll round praying for death
or sleep
in a  hot
smelly
tiny
undersized
hole in the wall.
