Absent Minded

White flag

I wish i could introduce you
to a higher level of pain
a ripping senseless pleasure
no mere mortal could explain
I wish i could grant you
just a little of my advice
another face i would have rather left as a stranger
smiling behind shameless eyes.

I wish i could surrender
to a lower form of sanity
a trickling numbness
no other has granted me.
I wish i could kiss you
and wipe the poison from my lips
another cold hearted turn on
as my love for you slips.

I wish I was clever enough
to long for something more
something more viable
feeling loathsome scorn.
I wish I could love you
and surrender to all this horn
another fractured heart wound
that you cannot find the bandage for.

I wish i could forget you
and this feeling would subside
Release me from these shackles
This is loveless and I've retired
