Condo 51
So LIsa and I were walking home
from Sandras party
wwe were drunk on Rye
Royal Reserve
I remember it like yesterday
that was the night
i broke my baby toe
the day the dial abottle showed up
and i came running up the stairs
and caught my foot on the end table
We were talking about de ja vous
like we had done this before
like it had happened before
like a dream
like everything that night had taken place
and we had caught on
This light right there is about to go out i said
and then we tooak a few steps and it did
There is going to be atruck pull up the road
she said
a dog is going to jumpout of the back
a man is going to come out of the truck
open the gate for the dog
and go into the back yard
we took another ten steps
and there waaas this truck
there was the dog
there he went into the back yard
we were shocked
i looked into Lisa
Lisa stared into me
we began to walk faster
then i noticed my shoe awas untied
slow down i said,
i gotta tie my shoe
Lisa lived in phase two and i lived on sesame street
we called it
condo row
wich went from one to a hundred and fifty four or something
so she asked me what condo are we at it seems like we've been walking forever
so i looked over
it was condo 54
so we got back to walking
talking about our experience of what we had jsut predicted
and we spoke about the night in our drunken state
forgetting everything that had just unravelled
walked and walked and walked
and walked and walked
we've been walking forever
that light is going to turn on right there i said
and i was just teasing
but it did
she looked at me scared
and asked
waht condo are we at
i looked over,
it wsa condo 54
she began to run
i ran too
but i stumbled
my shoe was untied
Wait i begged
my shoe, my shoe
she stopped
i tied it and then we ran
the truck came again
as we ran and there was a dog in the back
but we whizzed by it
never turning back to see what would happen
we got to my house
across the street from cond
a hundred and fifty something
and she stumbled the rest of the way home
i still remember her blue Boca sweater
and the way her blonde hair was styled
i still remeber the stars reflecting in her eyes that screamed
she didtn want to walk the rest of the way home
but i was late
i was drunk
i had to sneak in
I looked at the clock when i got in
the walk that took forever
and we left at like two in the morning
i was on time
i was right on time
noboedy could say anything
somehow i skipped my curfew and ended up home on time
was it even the same day?
was it even the same week?
werre me and LIsa missing in time?
were we abducted?
erased?
we never spoke of it afterwards, but this is a true story
and it still haunts me
the following monday at school
in english class
my teacher
while the class was reading
said to the class
i had a dream about you
and she wass talking to me
sstanding in front of the class smiling at me
everyone put their books down
you were on a spaceship she said,
and this did not seem strange to me
it seemed strange that iwas there
but through telepathy you kept talking about
a silver fluid
does that make any sense to you?
i said no
i denied everything
but i really had the same dream.
and there was a little girl
who needed a dentist
the aliens wouldnt let leave the spaceship
but thats just my guess
its soo weird its so confusing
i don't know anymore
so i'll just go and crawl back into my denial
and oone day ill go see a hypnotist i can trust
and see if he can figure it out!
